Saturday Kata Practice

The grading for 1st Kyu-3Dan is going to be held in mid-June. To prepare, Wakabayashi Sensei is going to teach Kata for a portion of Saturday practices from now on. Everyone who would like to get their first official CKF certification, make sure to come out on Saturdays to prepare for grading! 
 For those who don't know what CKF is, it's the Canadian Kendo Federation. It is the organization that holds the official gradings for Kendo, so if you ever want to get higher up in rank, you have to become a member. To do so, please register at https://www.kendo-canada.com/membership.html and make a profile. There is an annual membership fee of $35. This enables you to participate in tournaments and gradings every year, and covers insurance. If you want to get involved in the Kendo community, this is very important. If you have any questions, please let us know! See you all Saturdays, and try to bring a bokken (if you have) for kata practice!

Summer News Hello York Kendo, Just a few announcements for you today:       Practice schedule has not been released yet. Your exec team is actively communicating with York Athletics and Recreation to establish practice times for the remainder of this summer. Updates will be posted as soon as we hear back from Tait  and York Athletics.       Adidas Fall catalog has been released and we are currently accepting orders for team jackets. They are red track jackets with York Lion on the chest and your name on the back just below the collar. Price is going to be ~ $65 a piece (actual price to be announced as soon as we get the quote) and delivery estimate is 8-12 weeks. Please fill out the form if interested.
