2016 Winter Grading

Hello York Kendo!
For those of you who are interested in GRADING this winter, details are below:
Step 1: Print out grading form, from club website. Get approval from Hao Sensei to grade. http://www.yorku.ca/kendo/ContactUs.htm
Step 2: Give grading form to an executive member.
Step 3: Make a CKF online account, and apply online for grading.

*You will also need to talk to Simon Choe Sensei to unlock the online grading application form for you
*For people who apply for from 1st dan to 5th dan, here is the written exam and instruction:

DEADLINE: November 6, for both application and written exam submit.
GRADING DATE: November 20

Beginners' Fun Day! Yay!

Hello Hello! York University Kendo Club invites all Beginners and Senpais to our annual long-standing tradition of the Beginners' Fun Day! It will be held on this coming Saturday October 5th 2013, beginning at 9am with our usual practice! Practice will be more of an unconventional one than usual, with programmes designed specially for everyone to have fun. After practice, we shall be heading towards Lunch with the Senseis, then Bowling at Yonge and Cummer St. Bowlerama and will end, *drumrolls* with drinks at night--York Kendo style! The Club will be covering a part of the expenses, so it would be extremely affordable for all! Joint Practice at UofT

The University of Toronto Kendo Club is set to host the Intercollegiate Godokeiko (joint practice) this semester. The details are below: Date - Saturday  3rd-November  2012 Time - 10:00am to 01:00pm Location - the Upper Gym at the UofT Athletic Centre ( 55 Harbord Street, Toronto, ON M5S 2W6) This is an event that is hosted 3 times a year at each of the Toronto universities: York University, University of Toronto, and Ryerson University. It is open to all members, including beginners. You will meet other students learning Kendo and get to know the Kendo community a little bit more. There will be no practice held at York on this day, everyone will be expected at UofT.  Beginners, make sure you are prepared for this practice. Check your shinai and uniform (if you have it) beforehand, and ask a Senpai (senior member) if you have any questions regarding the event.
