CKF Grading


Hello YUKC,

As you all know, the CKF Grading will be held on the 24th of November 2013 at Ryerson University. Anyone who plans to be graded on the day of, please print off Grading Approval Form from the YU Kendo Website under “contacts”, and have Hao Sensei approve and sign it, THEN, pass it to Deyana or Simon Sensei to unlock your account. Following that, with this account, you must go online to the CKF website and apply/register for grading by yourself. ALSO, for anyone going for 1 Dan and above, please do submit your written exam, A WEEK before the application deadline. No written exam=No Grading. The deadline to apply to CKF for grading will be on 19th of November 2013, so please make sure you have completed everything as mentioned above and apply to CKF on time!

Summer News Hello York Kendo, Just a few announcements for you today:       Practice schedule has not been released yet. Your exec team is actively communicating with York Athletics and Recreation to establish practice times for the remainder of this summer. September 1st Practice Cancelled

Hello York Kendo, Practice will be cancelled this Saturday September 1st, as we are encouraging everyone to attend the Team Canada Open Shiai Practice at U of T Upper Gym from 1pm-5pm. We will be starting Fall Practice on September 6th from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Tait McKenzie Upper Gym, and we hope to see you there!

Beginners' Fun Day! Yay!

Hello Hello! York University Kendo Club invites all Beginners and Senpais to our annual long-standing tradition of the Beginners' Fun Day! It will be held on this coming Saturday October 5th 2013, beginning at 9am with our usual practice! Practice will be more of an unconventional one than usual, with programmes designed specially for everyone to have fun. After practice, we shall be heading towards Lunch with the Senseis, then Bowling at Yonge and Cummer St. Bowlerama and will end, *drumrolls* with drinks at night--York Kendo style! The Club will be covering a part of the expenses, so it would be extremely affordable for all! You can opt out the other events after Lunch, but we STRONGLY encourage you to stay for other events as well. This is the chance for you to meet and bond with your fellow peers, Senpais and other members of the club, so be sure to come!
