Important Dates to Remember
Another semester has begun, and it will be action-packed for the next few weeks. Let's get ready!
We have been actively preparing for the Intercollegiate Tournament for many months now, which will be hosted by our club on February 2nd. There are several things to talk about, and so executives have arranged to have a training/info session for everyone on January 19th.
Due to the enormity of information to cover, we have made this mandatory for all members so that everyone is clear on their roles. Though it is a learning experience for our beginners, and a planning one for older members, I guarantee it will be a lot of fun and worth everyone's while. As hosts of the anticipated student tournament, our club will work together closely and make this year's competition one to be remembered!
InterU Info Session:
Date - Saturday, January 19th
Time - 6-10pm
Location - 2020 Sheppard Ave. West
Apt. 514 (buzz 0514 to open door)
Bring: $5 cash (covers dinner)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wednesday, January 30th - Final practice before tournament
Saturday, February 2nd - Intercollegiate Tournament 2013
Wednesday, February 6th - Beginner's Grading
---> This grading will involve everything you learned so far at practice, nothing to be worried about. After, some people will be given permission to wear bogu. That means you can join advanced practice!
You will be given feedback on your progress, and will know what to improve on next time. Sensei and Senpai will be doing the judging.
The routine will follow the same as at the tournament. You have to know basics - Men, Kote, Do, combinations (kote-men, kote-do), and Kirikaeshi. Maybe more. We will let you know in advance!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
READING WEEK - February 16-22: Practice will continue throughout reading week, and since there are no classes, this calls for a PARTY! Stay tuned for the details :)
And those are the dates to remember, for now.
Thanks all. See you at practice!
